KDTime: Memorable and Catchy: The Silly Songs of Larry with Judith

Image
Episode 108 Singing with the Veggies: Our Favorite Silly Songs from VeggieTales If you grew up with VeggieTales , you already know the magic of a good “Silly Song with Larry.” In this episode, Judith and I took a nostalgic stroll down the produce aisle called the memory lane as we laughed, sang, and reminisced about our favorite VeggieTales silly songs. From “The Hairbrush Song” to “His Cheeseburger,” these catchy, quirky tunes were more than just filler—they were iconic moments that had us cracking up as kids (and, let’s be honest, as adults too). Jude and I couldn’t stop smiling as we recalled how the clever lyrics, playful storytelling, and unforgettable melodies stuck with us all these years. Here are some of the  Silly Songs we absolutely love: 🛁 “The Hairbrush Song” – A melodramatic masterpiece about a missing hairbrush… sung by a vegetable with no hair. Iconic. 🧀 “His Cheeseburger” – A fast-food love ballad with surprising emotional depth. Mr Lunt sings his heart...

That has got to be the number 1 answer. Some of other songs to consider, Unity - Queen Latifah, LOVE - Nat King Cole and Safety Dance - Men Without Hats.  What are some songs you know that aren't listed here?

KDTime: Not so Nice Nursery

Image
Episode Thirty-Nine You grow up learning different songs and tunes because the people around sing them. It's kind how we learn everything, someone else teaches you or you find out on your own. Today makes things a lot easier to learn because you can practically be educated entirely from the internet or a tv show which could be dangerous or super helpful. In this case, I am talking about some beloved or not so beloved nursery rhymes that were sung a lot during our childhoods. We all legit had the same childhood which is still pretty weird but when you relate to others who you did not grow up with but instantly have a connection because of your past, history, up bringing it all feels like we grew up together in one house or area. Let me tell you though some of the nursery rhymes I talk about I wouldn't have thought twice about them as a kid. They were catchy, fun and thrilling. Once I learned some of their origins in high school I was shook. In this episode I’ll get into the 10 t...

KDTime: Am I a 2000s Kid?

Image
"Oh, well imagine As I'm pacing the pews in a church corridor And I can't help but to hear No, I can't help but to hear an exchanging of words" If you could tell the name of this song by just these lyrics I know you are a 2000s kid. The 2000s was a wild time to be alive. Everyone brags about the 90s myself included, but the 2000s brought so many things including really great music. So much great music that I challenged myself to figure out song lyrics from certain 2000s hits. 2000-2010 where I spent my pre-teen to full teenage years. Most of the music was listened to on the radios and then slowly on YouTube and then on other internet websites. I experienced a lot in my teen years but one thing is for sure I got through it with music. Listening to lyrics that somehow seemed to express my exact feelings at the time. Songs like "Unwritten" by Natasha Bedingfield, "Crazy in Love" by Beyoncé, "How you Remind Me" by Nickelback, "Yeah...

KDTheme: TV Theme Songs 2 Part Two

Image
Twenty Eight Be careful not to mess with the balance of things, because everything is not what it seems. This is the second half of TV Show Theme songs. The first half consisted of cartoons and sitcoms and this half consisted of dramas and kid shows. Dramas like Degrassi: Next Generation, Charmed (original), Shameless, Teen Wolf and more. Kid shows like Hannah Montana, Bob the Builder, All That, and more. These shows have shaped my childhood and adolescence. I enjoyed these shows greatly and most of them hooked me in with their theme or opening music along with the actors and actresses I saw from trailers.  The thing about TV is that if it’s not an instant hit and consistently great then even if you love a show, the network can cancel the show because it's not getting the traction that was promised or hoped for. It absolutely sucks when you get into a show and then it gets cancelled for in my opinion bad reasons. The most recent ones that I watched were LoveCraft Country, Grand Arm...

KDTime: TV Theme Songs 2

Episodes Twenty- Seven & Twenty-Eight  It was so nice I had to do it twice. Some people actually suggested these TV theme songs and others I wanted to include because they are dope. This is part two. This episode includes a short story of a vacation taken to Niagara Falls, Lake Placid, Vermont, and Massachusetts and nostalgia of good TV shows. Some of these shows just barely missed the first list in episode thirteen, but it was only so many I could fit so here we go again. This episode was so BIG that I had to split it in two. First half/Part One has the theme songs listed below and the second half/Part Two will be all about the drama and kid shows. Enjoy 👊 Similar to Kenan & Kel (from Kenan & Kel) Kenan: I'll need a microphone, a topic, and a platform and for you guys to meet me on Spotify. Kel: Awww Here it goes! Speaking of Spotify, this episode is available on there. Links are on the left :) Below lists the TV shows by cartoons, and sitcoms.  Cartoons: Batman ...

KDTime: Showers, Camps, Ladders Oh My!

Episode Eleven. In this episode I talk about three different topics, the first is on baby showers vs bridal showers that are more common to go to by race, the camp I practically lived at for 10 straight summers, and finally social media social ladders.  As a person of color throughout my life I've gone to more baby showers in comparison to bridal showers. Now I completely understand that I couldn't exactly go to bridal showers in my earlier years, but even now I have probably only been to two bridal showers and I'm in the age range where my girl friends are "supposed" to get married. Why is it that more woman are having babies before marriage? That is definitely a top for another day. Sunshine Acres is one of the hugest parts of my late teens/early twenties life. It’s a camp located in Ellenville, Napanoch New York. It’s a great outdoor sleepaway camp that’s been around for over a hundred years; established in 1909. It started in Long Island but moved over to Upst...
