KDTime: The Evolution of Black Representation in Media

Image
Episode 120 Black Excellence in Media: A Legacy of Power, Progress, and Purpose For over a century, Black creatives have fought not only for a seat at the table but also for the right to redefine the table itself. The media industry—once a monolith of exclusion and misrepresentation—has gradually become a canvas for bold, authentic, and empowering expressions of Black excellence. Today, Black voices in film, television, music, and digital platforms do not merely participate—they lead. Breaking Through Barriers Early portrayals of Black characters in film and television were often marred by caricature and control. Black actors were relegated to servant roles, comic relief, or outright absent. But even amid these limitations, Black pioneers emerged. Hattie McDaniel's historic Oscar win in 1939 and Sidney Poitier’s trailblazing performances in the 1960s marked the beginning of a shift—one where talent could challenge stereotype. KDTime: "You Can Do it" (Sports Movies)

"You Can Do it" one of the most common phrases in most of Adam Sandler's movies and a few of them are on the following list. There is no rhythm nor rhyme about this list. It is really just a list of sports movies that I've seen and enjoyed over the years. And there are plenty more out to see I know, but these were the ones that I have definitely seen and seen a lot. Some still more than others! My favorite sports movie and movie of all time is Remember the Titans. It is such a classic feel good movie. Here is the list so far... Comment your favorite sports movie or movies! Bend it Like Beckham (2002) White Men Can’t Jump (1992) Rocky (1976) Coach Carter (2005) Happy Gilmore (1996) Longest Yard (Adam Sandler) (2005) Uncle Drew (2018) 42 (2013) Trouble with the Curve (2012) The Blind Side (2009) Here Comes the BOOM (2012) She’s the Man (2006) Bring it On (2000) Semi-Pro (2008) Dodgeball (2004) The Cutting Edge (1992) Neither Moira Kelly (voice of older Nala in The Lion ...

KDTheme: TV Theme Songs 2 Part Two

Image
Twenty Eight Be careful not to mess with the balance of things, because everything is not what it seems. This is the second half of TV Show Theme songs. The first half consisted of cartoons and sitcoms and this half consisted of dramas and kid shows. Dramas like Degrassi: Next Generation, Charmed (original), Shameless, Teen Wolf and more. Kid shows like Hannah Montana, Bob the Builder, All That, and more. These shows have shaped my childhood and adolescence. I enjoyed these shows greatly and most of them hooked me in with their theme or opening music along with the actors and actresses I saw from trailers.  The thing about TV is that if it’s not an instant hit and consistently great then even if you love a show, the network can cancel the show because it's not getting the traction that was promised or hoped for. It absolutely sucks when you get into a show and then it gets cancelled for in my opinion bad reasons. The most recent ones that I watched were LoveCraft Country, Grand Arm...

KDTime: TV Theme Songs 2

Episodes Twenty- Seven & Twenty-Eight  It was so nice I had to do it twice. Some people actually suggested these TV theme songs and others I wanted to include because they are dope. This is part two. This episode includes a short story of a vacation taken to Niagara Falls, Lake Placid, Vermont, and Massachusetts and nostalgia of good TV shows. Some of these shows just barely missed the first list in episode thirteen, but it was only so many I could fit so here we go again. This episode was so BIG that I had to split it in two. First half/Part One has the theme songs listed below and the second half/Part Two will be all about the drama and kid shows. Enjoy 👊 Similar to Kenan & Kel (from Kenan & Kel) Kenan: I'll need a microphone, a topic, and a platform and for you guys to meet me on Spotify. Kel: Awww Here it goes! Speaking of Spotify, this episode is available on there. Links are on the left :) Below lists the TV shows by cartoons, and sitcoms.  Cartoons: Batman ...

KDTime: We're Filming

Movies are probably the best things I love to talk about. I watch so many movies it's crazy or at least it seems crazy to me. But I know there are people out there that watch movies for a living or even a side hobby giving their opinions and critics. In this episode two topics are addressed. The first topic is on movies that would be very interesting to see from another character's point of view. As I type this it gives me an idea for another kind of topic, but I won't say here. You'll have to listen to the episodes to find out what that is. Anyway the second topic is on movies that would make fantastic tv shows with the right people behind it of course.  Here's a list of the Movies for TV Show submission from the episode: Percy Jackson  The twilight saga  50 shades of grey Look Who’s talking now Master of Disguise  Inception Spider-Man: into the spider verse  Clue Harry Potter Marvel Cinematic Universe Lord of the rings Tell me your thoughts. Are there ot...
