KDTime: Changes

Episode 91 Have you ever felt the drab of getting older? Your body doesn't lose weight the same way it did as a teenager? Where did the time go? The body goes through significant changes due to a variety of factors, including metabolism, lifestyle, and natural aging processes. Here are some facts behind the rant in my episode Metabolism and Aging Our metabolism is slow. Hormones such as testosterone, estrogen, and growth hormone play a significant role in body composition. Their levels tend to decline with age, leading to increased fat accumulation and decreased muscle mass. Lifestyle Factors Our Physical Activity has changed greatly. Teenagers are often more active due to sports, physical education, and a generally higher energy level. In our 30s, busy work ...

KDTime: Healthy vs Unhealthy Jobs

Episode 72 In this episode, talking about healthy jobs versus unhealthy jobs makes you think about the type of field you are in. You wouldn't think that a job is necessarily unhealthy until you either experience it or have a friend or family member who can tell you about it. You wouldn't think a harmless job being behind a desk for 40 hours a week is unhealthy because you aren't doing anything that's deemed unhealthy. But would you believe that sitting around all day is in fact unhealthy? I know I didn't think so until I got into this habit of being at desk everyday would do to me. I don't feel very active and I can easily sit there constantly on my computer checking on things for the job.  After reading both articles about which jobs are healthy and which aren't I've come to this conclusion this is an excerpt for the closer to the end of the show: "I think the main idea about these jobs, although it was funny to read that a florist job can be both ...

KDTime: Food Facts You May Not Know

Episode 67 Fact number one. Do you like fruit? Well Frozen Fruit might be a little better for you. We are possibly programmed to believe that fresh is the only way to go when it comes to fruits and veggies but the truth is that if they are frozen they can sometimes be even better for you. There’s a thing called flash-frozen meaning right after the fruits and veggies are picked at their peak ripeness, once frozen they are so full of vitamins and minerals in comparison that may have degraded in their fresh version. As long as there isn’t any added sugar or salt in your frozen fruits and veggies you are good to go. Generally speaking, the nutrients are well retained when frozen which can improve your health. Fact number two . Did you know that there is a huge possibility that there is sunscreen in your salad. You heard me correctly. Sunscreen in your salad. A key ingredient in many paints and sunscreens is titanium dioxide and it just so happens to also be in some salad dressings. I...
