When you hit 18 you are considered an adult in this world. It's hard to prepare for because 0-18 you are growing, but being an adult is so much more than being a certain age. There are grown people who do not act like adults. But the truth is I don't think anyone knows what being an adult really means. We just helplessly get older and with that aging process comes more responsibility. If a person grows up and isn't told they are an adult how do they know? How would they know unless someone else explained to them you are an adult.
It's funny because, in movies like the Jungle Book, George of the Jungle or even Tarzan. How did those men find out they were adults?
I mean Mowgli was definitely a kid who thought he belonged in the jungle and grew up with wolves. So when he got older how did he know he was an adult? George had his best friend who was a gorilla named Ape who would speak with him often. Tarzan also grew up with gorillas. I guess my point is without knowing you are an adult can you really be an adult mentally? Of course physically at a certain time you are an adult. But for the mental aspect. It's a lot harder to accept. We need others to help us.

“Adulting” the term was created years ago. It’s not new even though more people use the word today as though it was. Adult is a noun and adulting is a verb. It’s what adults do. In order to be “adulting” according to my generation is you have to have a steady job check, being financially independent nope, paying a bill on your own check, paying rent/mortgage on your own check, paying for your car on your own check, budgeting for monthly expenses nope, filing taxes check (well I have my own personal tax accountant), cooking your own meals i can but i haven’t in a while, moving out of the family home check, and finally being on time for work hmm not always but I’ve been doing a different aspect of my job which causes me not to be there “on time”.
