I’m less about the ranking and more about what made me laugh, gasp, cheer, or quote endlessly. Here are the flicks that hit home for me in 2014:

  • Kingsman: The Secret Service
    Stylish chaos with British charm. Spy flicks haven’t been the same since.

  • Ride Along
    Kevin Hart + Ice Cube = buddy cop comedy gold.

  • Walk of Shame
    Elizabeth Banks on a citywide adventure in heels. Relatable chaos.

  • The Other Woman
    Revenge and friendship? Sign me up.

  • Edge of Tomorrow
    Live. Die. Repeat. And repeat. Action-packed and smarter than expected.

  • Big Hero 6
    Disney gave us Baymax, and we’ve never stopped hugging him in our hearts.

  • The Lego Movie
    Still awesome. Had to include it again. Deal with it.

  • Interstellar
    Can’t talk about 2014 without mentioning Nolan’s space opera.

  • Captain America: The Winter Soldier
    MCU got serious—and it paid off.
