In this episode, Amy and I talk about her new book Star Sick as I get into the mind of a self published writer. Being a self-published author is a journey filled with both challenges and rewards. On one hand, it offers a sense of creative freedom and autonomy, allowing authors to bring their vision to life without the constraints of traditional publishing.
However, it also requires a great deal of perseverance and dedication, as authors must navigate the intricacies of editing, formatting, and marketing on their own. Building an audience and gaining recognition can be daunting tasks, but the ability to connect directly with readers and receive immediate feedback can be incredibly fulfilling. Ultimately, being a self-published author is a labor of love, requiring passion, patience, and a willingness to embrace the journey, wherever it may lead.
One of the funny things about talking with an author is realizing how similar it is to being a podcaster. Not that one is better than the other but creatively we both are publishing content that we enjoy and hope to share with the masses. When you think about it, the best thing for a creator to do is continue to post, promote, publish and most importantly create.
Amy's book is full of intrigue, nostalgia, and genuine curiosity. A young girl named Luccee lives in a world not to far in the future from us now where doing the mundane and using technology as we know it is obsolete. It's a thrilling science-fiction book that can easily captivate it's reader.
