KDTime: Manifest it with Michelle
KDTime: Gone TOO Soon!
Episode 95
In this episode, I take a trip down memory lane. Have you ever gotten so invested in a television show/series and you watch it consecutively every week or you binge watch the season because it was streamed in it's entirety? Well I have, I've been subject to many a show series where I've been sucked into the world they created and became invested in the show characters all for it to come to a screeching halt because the network decided to ax the show.
Every year tv show networks produce new shows that they think will be the next ER or Grey's Anatomy or Law & Order and SVU. Every year a tv show comes along that maybe a handful of people will enjoy and they watch continuously every time the show graces the tv screens. The trouble is becoming invested in a show and the the plug being pulled.
Sometimes it happens before the show can even make it a full season and other times. It's right after the season has ended and you wait around all summer for the announcement of whether it's been cancelled or not. Whatever the case maybe. You watch a show, fall in love with it and then it leaves you like a bad hook up. I can't tell you how many times I've watched a show and enjoyed it so much that when I found out it was cancelled; I went into a rage!
It has caused severe trust issues with my television. I don't trust any new shows that come out any more because I don't want to go through the pain and heartbreak anymore. This is mainly why I stick to my comfort shows.
What shows have left you? What shows have you wanted to continue?

KDTime: "Year of the Gentleman" Analysis
Episode 93
It was the year of 2008. I was a wild teen who needed some clear guidance. I was sent to a summer camp to be a junior counselor that changed my life forever. I made new friend, fell in love, became a part of a new camp family and subsequently a community. A lot changed for me in 2008. A couple years prior in 2006 Ne-Yo came out with an album called "In My Own Words" and I remember writing a blog about it and how you could write a story with the song titles.
And that's exactly what I did. I used the song titles as parts of an interesting story. Then fast forward to 2020 when I started my podcast journey. I thought back on that time of Ne-Yo and my growing love for his music and him as an artist. I was a teenager, there was Chris Brown, Ne-Yo, Omarion the list went on but I had a special spot for Ne-Yo in my young teenage heart. So on KDTime I decided to create an episode analyzing his first album and it was so much fun. Then I did it again for his 2nd album "Because of You" and now for the third "Year of the Gentleman". Each album feels like a story, each song title feels like it ties into the next song.
Although for this album it would seem as though Ne-Yo's character dies mid way through and sort of comes alongside as a Ghost? You give it a listen and tell me what you think!
Here are the songs from the album
- "Closer"
- "Nobody"
- "Single"
- "Mad"
- "Miss Independent"
- "Why Does She Stay"
- "Fade into the Background"
- "So You Can Cry"
- "Part of the List"
- "Back to What You Know"
- "Lie to Me"
- "Stop This World"

KDTime: Matty Mitchell
Episode 92
Matt is one of the funniest guests I've had on the show. He brings a certain level of energy and allows for the conversation to flow. We had such a fun time recording the episode and it felt like we've been friends for a long time.KDTime: Changes
Episode 91
Have you ever felt the drab of getting older? Your body doesn't lose weight the same way it did as a teenager? Where did the time go?
The body goes through significant changes due to a variety of factors, including metabolism, lifestyle, and natural aging processes. Here are some facts behind the rant in my episode
Metabolism and Aging
Our metabolism is slow. As we age, our basal metabolic rate (BMR) decreases, which means we burn fewer calories at rest than we did as teenagers. This is partly due to a natural loss of muscle mass and changes in hormonal levels.
Our hormones change. Hormones such as testosterone, estrogen, and growth hormone play a significant role in body composition. Their levels tend to decline with age, leading to increased fat accumulation and decreased muscle mass.
Lifestyle Factors
Our Physical Activity has changed greatly. Teenagers are often more active due to sports, physical education, and a generally higher energy level. In our 30s, busy work schedules, family commitments, and sedentary habits can reduce the amount of physical activity we engage in.
Our Diet and Nutrition changes and the way it gets broken down in our bodies have changed as well. Eating habits can change as we age. Increased responsibilities and stress might lead to more convenience foods and less time for preparing balanced meals. Additionally, portion sizes and food choices might not adjust to our reduced caloric needs.
Gradual Changes
Gradually gaining Weight. Year after year our weight gain often happens gradually, making it hard to notice until it becomes significant. A few pounds a year can add up over a decade or more.
Body Composition. Even if the scale doesn't show a huge change, body composition can shift towards more fat and less muscle, impacting overall appearance and health.
Mental and Emotional Aspects
Body Image. Our perception of our bodies can change over time, and societal pressures can exacerbate feelings of dissatisfaction or confusion about these changes.
Acceptance and Adaptation. Learning to accept and adapt to our changing bodies is crucial for mental well-being. This might involve redefining health and fitness goals, focusing on strength and functionality rather than just appearance.
Strategies for Managing Changes
1) Let's hit that Regular Exercise. Incorporate both cardio and strength training exercises to boost metabolism and maintain muscle mass.
2) Healthy Eating. Focus on nutrient-dense foods, portion control, and balanced meals to meet the body's changing needs.
3) Mindfulness and Self-Care. Practice mindfulness, stress management, and self-care to maintain a positive relationship with your body.
Share your personal experiences and practical tips on these topics. It can be very relatable and helpful for your everyone who reads. Let's encourage an open dialogue about body changes and promoting a healthy, balanced approach to wellness can make a significant impact.

KDTime: Seated Exercises with Sammy Wilson
- Microbreaks: Every 30 minutes, take a quick break to stand up, stretch, or walk around. Even a minute of movement can make a difference.
- Desk Stretches: Incorporate simple stretches such as neck rolls, shoulder shrugs, and seated spinal twists to keep muscles flexible and alleviate tension.
- Seated Exercises: Perform seated exercises like leg lifts, seated marches, or using a resistance band for arm exercises.
- Standing Desk: If possible, use a standing desk or a convertible desk to alternate between sitting and standing throughout the day.
- Walking Meetings: Suggest walking meetings for discussions that don’t require sitting in front of a computer. It’s a great way to get steps in while being productive.
- Lunchtime Walks: Use part of your lunch break to go for a walk. It’s a great way to refresh your mind and body.
- Hydration and Movement: Drink plenty of water, which naturally encourages you to get up more frequently for bathroom breaks and refills.
- Stretch Bands and Light Weights: Keep stretch bands or light weights at your desk for quick strength-training exercises during breaks.
- Posture Check: Regularly check your posture. Sit up straight with your feet flat on the floor and shoulders relaxed. Good posture reduces strain and encourages better movement patterns.
- Use Technology: Set reminders on your phone or computer to prompt you to move every hour. There are also apps designed to remind you to take breaks and provide stretching exercises.
